Joy Hing Cantonese Barbecue Food 再興燒味

First thought of a quick dinner is cuttlefish noodle in Causeway as I was on the way to.  A man on Henessey Road was eating Cantonese  barbecue food.  Hmm, the good smell.  The famous BBQ meat restaurant, 再興 should be around.  Let's go.......  Ooh, it's just around the corner.

A queue in front of the shop for takeaway.  It's typical to have roasted meat as one of the main dishes.  It can be you like it, or you don't have time to cook everything for dinner, so take it away and eat along with other dishes and rice.  For someone like me, simply hop in there for a quick meal.  But the good feeling was beyond my expectation and the food was great and good value for money.

A plate of rice, single or two kinds of BBQ meats: BBQ Pork, Chicken, duck, pork belly, baby pig, pig spare ribs, etc.  Cost?  HK$24.  What!  Yes, it's cheap!  And of excellent value for such a price.  Get a soup?  HK$6-15.  The daily costs $6, Nori soup $8 and some with special ingredients $15.  The daily soup was full of favour with Chinese watercress.  One can feel the sincere of the owner, and the workers.  They work in a harmony manner.  Service and delivery is quick.

BBQ pork is also called char siu, or fork roast.  It is normally shoulder cut of domestic pork, long strips of seasoned boneless porkskewered with long forks and placed in a covered oven or over a fire.  Seasoning: honey, fivespice powder, red fermented bean curd, dark soy sauce, hoisin sauce, red food colouring and sherry or rice wine.  My plate of BBQ pork was juicy and delicious.  The chicken was not rough at all, though it was not the thigh.  Good choice and luck!  Guests were all like all-time customers.  The place is tiny.  But no one seemed to mind.  A man even took chopstick and spoon from the corner for me.  This nice behaviour is higher above the typical men's manner in Hong Kong.

Whilst I was enjoying my sumptuous fast food, my ears were echoed with loud and sincere thank-you all the time.  Thank-yous from numerous waiters and the cashier when a guest left.  Impressed!  Will certainly come back because of the great food, friendly service attitude and guests.

並不是第一次光顧再興燒味，但這一次是完全不同的經驗。從前有印象的是美味，今次是左美食之外加底的濃濃的人情味，狹窄的座位，但食客全不介意，善意的互相遷就。飯來了，我帶點惘然的張望何處有筷子，旁邊的食客立即在牆邊替我取筷子和膠匙羹。伙記都很友善，每一位食客離開時，多謝聲此起彼落，帶着快樂的道謝，期待下次的光臨。

回家的巴士上，一個年輕的男士佔了1又1/4座位，見我拿着二大袋東西，只是大模大樣的依舊玩他的ipad，毫無意式要讓回那1/4座位，他一點也不肥，但目中無人，只顧自己的享樂，再興的中年食客，沒有他的長相好，但人格高一籌，何堪的香港年青人!
