Cafe Relay

 

I had been wishing to visit Cafe Relay but until last Thursday, 22 July 2022, I could reserve a table at 1pm and enjoy the nice food and service. Three guys run the cafe, from taking order to cooking, serving and cleaning. They are efficient and kind. The venue is quiet, modern and friendly.

All day breakfast is the key on the menu. Guests can order full or small portion. It fits light diners and allows ladies to reserve space for the fabulous waffle as dessert.  We tried Classic (features avocado) and Crispy Fish Breakfast. Both are good. The Classic features avocado along with bacon, scrambled egg and a choice between quinoa salad, toast or French fries.  The scrambled egg is fabulous, soft and a bit runny.

Hot tea or Americano was offered for free if the full day breakfast is taken. All tea choices are organic: white rose, ginger, honey bush, Moroccan mint, etc. Tea is served in lovely tea pot. Each one is different. How lovely!

Majority of guests go for the all day breakfast. Alternatively, one can opt for savory waffle/toast and pasta. We took the creamy pasta with bacon and mushroom. It was yummy! A bit small though.

Don't miss the waffle. Our choice was the earl grey version. The nice smell spread over the cafe when it was prepared. It's crispy outside and soft inside. Different kinds of berries dot the waffle and plate. It is enjoyed together with honey and whipped. Superb!

I revisited Cafe Relay with other colleagues the next week. It never disappoints. We took one small full day breakfast each and shared a earl grey waffle (yes, again for me). We all loved it. The week ended happily with good food and atmosphere.
