Theo Mistral - Italian Kitchen by Theo Randall

It has been more than a year that Fanny and I met last time. We could arrange to meet finally. This time I searched for a restaurant.  We went for Theo Mistral at the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong. The comments at Open Rice were good. Theo Randall is a British chef specialising in Italian cuisine. He earned his first Michelin star at The River Cafe in London. After 15 years's service he opened his own restaurant at the InterContinental London. Success extended beyond the UK. First Theo restaurant in Bangkok, then Hong Kong and Zurich

Theo Mistral is located at the basement B2 level of the hotel. The ambience is romantic and relaxed. Dim light in the half dark space. Corners are dotted with flowers in spotlights. Restaurant's simple elegance win guests' applause. The service by different staff members was very attentive and nice. Really a good impression!

We were first served a bread basket. Different sorts of bread, from focaccia, bread to grissini. Grissini was real nice.  And the olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well!

Following was a Antipasti mix: Bresaola, parma ham, asparagus wrapped with bacon, marinated artichoke, cherry tomato, mozzarella and bruschetta. They were all yummy!

Oops! We were already half full after the antipasti. But we ordered mud crab pasta, sauteed mushroom and pizza.  Luckily, we could cancel the pizza as the next dish would be cooked when the previous served and almost finished.

We enjoyed the dishes very much and also our chit chat. A nice evening went very quick. The last order during the pandemic was limited to 9pm. Guests had to leave by 10pm. Hope the pandemic will be over soon.
