Harlan's

It was early January 2016.  Fanny and I haven't met for quite sometime.  We picked Harlan's as the venue for our reunion. Reading from Open Rice, it should not be expensive.  But it turned out as expensive.  Not a wonder, it's famous among Hong Kong elite class or the young hippies. Nevertheless, the food, service and environment were superb.

The place is elegant.   Huge windows assimilate the surrounding views into the restaurant.  It becomes richer with the extra views and the lights outside also adds credits to the environment.

Appetizers cost between HK$240 and 380.   We picked our choices but found the tasting menu.   It sounded attractive and was good value of money.  Of course, we switched to the tasting menu, $780 per person, at time January 2016.

Choices of our first appetizers: Tuna Tartar Chorizo fennel and granny smith.  A big contrast of soft tuna tartar and the crunchiness of the fennel and apple. Taste was wonderful too. We also had salmon sashimi.  Both were refreshing on the Friday night, after a long week of hard work.

We were served clams and duck liver as the second appetizers.  Nice!

For main courses, we had chicken and fish.  They were tender, juicy and delicious!

Dessert: both of us picked the Double Chocolate.  Nice and will be nicer with less cream.  It was put on the side.

At the chilly winter, we sat inside comfortably.  After the gourmet we went outside the terrace, walked passed various tables to have gorgeous views of the surrounding and the opposite shore.   Fantastic! A busy and vibrant town!
