Shatin 18 Peking Duck

It's the second last meal with Soo prior to her return to England. We had a sumptuous lunch at Shatin 18, enjoyed its famous Peking duck and indispensably a glass of white wine which is Soo's favourite.

Choices of duck course were offered. The first course is duck skin, breast and leg eaten with cucumber, leek, soy bean paste and pancake.  A dedicated chef sliced the different parts of the duck as a show.  Peking duck never disappoints!

The second course is wok-fried minced duck with ice-lettuce, delicious. The third one duck soup, Chinese cabbage and bean curd.  The soup was on the side of ordinary.

Shatin 18 labelled itself with Dongguan and Northern cuisine.  The previous more or less means Cantonese kitchen and the latter Peking duck and northern dim sum.   I had lunch another time.  Its' dim sum (southern China) were impressive.
