Sushi Mori, 森壽司

Carmen and I finished shopping at Coach in Central.  As we did not need to hurry back home we had dinner together.  The first thought was to visit a Japanese restaurant 滿屋 in Causeway Bay. But the line was immediately cut when we called.  Then the memory of reading about Sushi Mori pop up.   All right, let's try.  We could get a table at 6.30 but must return it by 8pm.  OK, not a problem.

It is located at Graham Street, quite a small restaurant, one chef, one waiter and waitress.   The chef was very young but has superb skills.  One can already noticed when trying the appetizers.  The first was winter melon served in mellow soy sauce.   Flower petals put on top to appreciate the eyes, add aesthetic enlightenment, taste and texture to the plain melon. The other small dish was beef cooked in vegetables.   Also nice.

Our eyes were wide opened when the mixed sashimi rice was serve.  Wow, generous portion! It should be at least over 15 pieces of fresh fish and seafood.   They are stunningly fresh and yummy!  Carmen loved it so much and could finish it much quicker than I.

The food built confidence.  We felt full but still ordered sea urchin sushi.   Wa wa wa! 3 layers of sea urchin on top of the sushi.   Well worth and super fresh.  Slimy and superb!

Steamed egg was velvet and the crab meat was huge and the natural sweetness was amazing.  Yeah!  A good pick.  For sure, we will return.  Such a surprise and delight.

Nearby was a cake shop, Sweet Secrets.  Carmen bought a few pieces home to enjoy.  I didn't as I could treat myself.  My latest attempt: matcha red bean soufflé cake roll.  Yum!
