Sushi Dokoro Matsudo (鮨處松户)

Dinner at Sushi Dokoro Matsudo  (鮨處松户) was impromptu.  A call from Carmen then we met up with Eva at this new trial restaurant.  Carmen was here once with her husband.  It is located at Toy House at Canton Road.  This is a building with numerous pricey restaurants.  This one is among all the best valued.  We were humble to order a normal mixed sashimi menu but the waitress advised that they were offering half price for the medium to higher priced sashimi and sushi menu.  Wow!  What a wonderful offer!  Without second thought, we went for one of each.  Yeah!

For cooked dishes we picked grilled ox tongue and scallops.  Both were good.  Lemon juice enliven both to intensify the taste with a bite of sour.  We also ordered Okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza).  Crabmeat wrapped in egg.  On top was katsuobushi (dried fermented and smoked skipjack tuna) and mayonnaise.  Delicious!

The portion of the sashimi combo was perfect.  Each sort had 3 pieces.  Yum and fresh.  I loved particularly the sea urchin and so did Carmen. It's velvet!

It was more difficult to split the sushi as the good ones each came with one piece only.  I was allowed to pick the first piece and went for tuna toro.  It's fatty and divine.  Carmen chose the sea urchin wrap with nori.  She said it was not as fresh as the sea urchin sashimi.  Overall it was a very good meal.  We enjoyed the food and the reunion.

The half price promotion for supreme sashimi and sushi combo will last till the end of February.  Don't miss it.  I may visit another time.
