Chez Moi

I visited Chez Moi 2 consecutive Fridays in November 2013.  The first time with Carmen and Eva.  Since both of them drink little or no wine, I only bought a half bottle red at the last moment.  By chance it was a good pick, Chateau de Malleret at Haut Medoc, year 2005.  $160 for half bottle is not cheap but it's worthwhile as it was superb.  It needed time to breathe.

We three tried the majority of the choices on the menu.  All three starters and 3 meat dishes.   Out of the three starters, my favourite is the goose liver.  The duck breast was fresh and delighted.  The second time when I was together with Soo, we had one goose liver for each.  It ended up too much for one person.  1/3 of it was nicer.

After the gorgeous soup came our main courses.  We were too happy with them and forgot to take any photos.  They were aall charcoal grilled:  Australian Wagyu rib eye (M7) with red wine sauce, U.S. dry aged sirloin in the same wine sauce and Spanish Iberico Pork Rack with mixed mushroom sauce.  They were all good.  I liked best the sirloin.

The second visit was together with Soo.  We ordered the same starter and main course, goose liver and bouillabaisse.  On top, 3 oysters for each of us.  They were succulent and awesome.  Just too much for us with the rest of dishes.

Bouillabaisse
Seafood in the soup dish was fresh.  Feeling blissful.  Desserts were OK, not outstanding.  The food standard was good but the service was not first class.  When it got busy, long waiting time, cold bread, inattentive service all experienced.  The price was good for 5 courses, $430.  Oyster cost extra.
