Chuen Lung, 川龍食點心

It's rare that my whole family go far away for dim sum.  We went to Tsuen Lung with my brother's van.  It is located on the western side of Tai Mo Shan, the highest mountain in Hong Kong.  It is famous for its teahouses with offer of dim sum.  It is always packed with day trippers during the weekend.

It was reported in news that the river in the area still had good quality water.  Vegetables were grown locally and retained the natural sweetness.  Yes it was, our fried watercress was excellent.  The BBQ meat platter and dim sum were outstanding too.  It's another experience of sitting in an open area to enjoy the gourmet, versus the closed air-conditioned restaurants.

We settled down at Tuen Kei, a two-level building.  Dim sum is on a self-served basis.  One could take its favoured food on the ground floor, everything fresh.  There was also a big glass box with all kinds of deep fried dim sum.  We sat on the first floor.  The stair case was quite steep.  So, be careful!
Bean curd dessert was famous.  I thought it must be very good in the past, but not the time of our visit.

You will not miss a woman selling home grown organic produce just outside the restaurant.  It was indeed very good vegetables.  Still in my memory.

Nearby is a shrine, a place where villages put the ancestral tablets generation after generation.  It retained the old Chinese architecture.  Funny was a older style mini cooper.  It looks like abandoned for some time.  It would be nice if I could drive it away.
