Gala Cafe 嘉樂冰廳

It's time to stock some cake baking ingredients in Tsuen Wan.  So, a bit search on gourmet food.  My mum asked to come with me.  Various reviews suggested the Gala Café.  Why not?  But be cautious of a long queue outside the tiny restaurant.  The couple sitting opposite to us said they had been waiting for 45 minutes.  Our waiting was about 25 minutes.  The food quality worth a bit waiting but perfect if without.  We got off at bus station of Yeung Uk Road Market, turn left, walked straight for a while and then left again to arrive.  Thanks to a women in a store with very clear instructions.

It's real old.  If you look hard into the photo of the interior, there was an old man making the Sundays.  He should be the owner, running the restaurant for over 20 years.  Yes, I took an Ovaltine Milkshake. A block of ovaltine ice like floating island, adding the flavor to the fabulous drink.

And I ordered a small portion omelet.  Yes, the size is definitely huge.  It's not for one person.  My mum helped me with whilst waiting for her main course.  Embedded was also loads of sliced ham.  It was a week's quota of eggs.  It's nice but nicer if it was more runny.

My mum's choice is chicken ribbon macaroni.  But the chicken slices were also huge.  The noodle was very tasty, added peas and mushroom.  Gala Café does not provide set meal like most of the café in Hong Kong do.  It's more expensive too.  But it is worthwhile.  In the days of 2013, two person's meal still cost less than $100.  OK la.

A visit alone.  I tried the beef brisket and chicken wing noodle.  The soup was infused with full flavours of the beef and chicken.  The beef was not that melting in mouth but not tough. Chicken wings were tasty and many tables had it on. Yum Yum.
