Maureen Noodles 摩廚麵館

It was a rainy night.  Sizzle in early May, rarely cold but it was this year.  Carmen and I met for good food again.  Maureen Noodles was found at Openrice.  It is located in a remote corner of Wanchai, tucks in a small street dotted with pub, residence.  Very quiet in the night.  But the restaurant was packed.
Maureen offers noodle set, choices of main course with molecular noodle (mix of Northern Dandan & Southern wonton egg noodle + sesame oil in form of mayonnaise) and a Chinese soup.  Price ranged from $83 to $103.

We ordered the salmon cooked in low temperature and beef ribs.  The salmon was unexpectedly good.  Velvet texture in simple ginger spring onion soy sauce.  The ribs were OK but not wow.

We also ordered appetizer and other main courses.  But all came at once. Dishes dotted the tiny table for two.  It's not a good manner.  Both appetizers were excellent.  The Chinese wine egg won our appreciation.  The first bit in mouth is mild subtle taste of wine and grew stronger but never dominant.

The grilled Japanese abalone was tender and delicious, tiny taste of charcoal, very nice!

Normally, I do not eat chicken breast.  But the lemon olive oil chicken was delicious, not rough at all.

The 63C egg in mushroom sauce and Chinese aged ham was disappointed.  We both preferred the Chinese Wine egg, almost 1/3 of the price but with surprise and good memory.

Maureen also offers menu value added sets.  Next time we will go for them.  Be sure to book a table prior.
