La Parole

Welcome to Hong Kong, Seow Ping!  A move from Shanghai to Hong Kong.  Yup, it has been 1.5 months since the move.  And we only had a chance to meet after.  Nevermind!  A nice chat, a wonderful meal with gorgeous food at La Parole. Waitress was nice, food is delighted with every single details.  Attentiveness and love for good food won credits for the restaurant.

No question asked.  Greetings then followed with a complimentary welcome snack.  Fish paste topped with tomato sitting a piece of toast, a refreshing start, a moment to soothe a day of crazy work, to calm down.

Both of our appertizer were excellent. Mine crab meat with mille feuille and tomato was light and appealing.  Seow Ping's pink salmon looked superb.  Yum!  Thoughtful and simple decoration added pleasure of enjoying the gourmet.

Main course choices were rabbit in pastry, gnocchi with vegetable and white cod.  It's the first time to have rabbit in Hong Kong.  It's tender with a mild new flavour to me.  Seow Ping's fish was presented in a romantic way.  Both of us were happy with the food.

Almost forgot to talk a bit on the menu.  There is no real ala carte, but diners much order dinner set.  A 3-course menu with appertizer, main, dessert and coffee or tea cost $418.  Adding a soup will add up to $468.  Not bad.  Or try their exclusive Discovery Menu offering 6 courses with a selection of fresh daily produce chosen by the chef.

First to know is we both love chocolate.  Without prior discussion or hint, we both took Chocolate Pleasure.  There were indeed other good choices too.  But I could not eat mango and banana.  Two desserts featuring the two fruits which should not be taken while I was still coughing.  But believe me, the chocolate pleasure was a real pleasure.  It's a warm chocolate cake sitting on a biscuit, panne cotta and topped with vanilla ice cream.  The mix of different texture, taste, a wonderful amalgamation!  I like the dots and dash of chocolate decoration.  Stylish and modern.

Last but not least, the dinner ended with sweet!  Hot chocolate served in a pleasing way.  My first time to have hot chocolate at the end of a dinner.  Why not, a feeling of warmth and connection.
La Parole is the first restaurant featuring high class French food and a social enterprise.  It is run by Confiserie Benhi Limited.  The revenue generated after deducting the expense is contributed to specialized professional speech therapy to children and teenagers with communication problems, especially those from low-income families.  A good intention!  One more reason to be back for another time.

All photos by iphone.  Well, quality is not at the best but should give you good imagination of the food and our fine dining experience.
