Al Molo

1 June 2012

Quite a while that Connie, Ella and I haven't had dinner together.  This time Italian again but a new trial, Al Molo, next to the Victoria Harbour with superb views of the city nights.  Design is New York style.  Cuisine is classic Italian.  It links with celebrity chef Michael White but perhaps long gone......

Antipasto did not give surprise.  Carpaccio - sliced beef braseola, poached figs, gorgonzola, hazelnuts tasted gool.  Hazelnuts added a twist.  Green salad was crispy and fresh.  But the Fior di Zucca - squash flower fritters did not impress at all.  It's a chunk of deep fried batter without taste.

Very nice is the Garganelli, pasta quills with prosciutto, truffle cream and peas with abundant parmesan cheese.  Fragrant and yummy.

Hmm, pizza Prosciutto was OK, not crispy.

Tartaletta milk chocolate and caramelized banana tart, roasted banana gelato

Torta warm molten chocolate cake, clementine sorbetto, dark chocolate gelato

Desserts were the consolation.  Good & good!

A nice chat, update and pleasant night out!
