ComeInto Chiu Chow Restaurant 金燕島潮州酒樓

It's a long time that I haven't met Lemon, more than 2 years.  Yesterday, four of us had nice time and gorgeous food at ComeInto Chiu Chow Restaurant.  It would be even nicer if Alex could have joined us.  Hope we will see him on his birthday, end of October.

Each of us has new experiences and challenges.  Nice is we are opened at our conversation.  Friendship is always dear.

OK, OK, about the food.  Chiu Chow food is more about seafood and vegetarian dishes. It emphasises on the freshness and quality of the ingredients for its flavour rather heavy-handed seasoning.  Common cooking methods are poaching, steaming, braising and stir-fly.

For snacks, we had goose meat and water jelly, oyster pancake and deep fried tofu.  They were all delicious.  Oyster pancake is a must when I go for Chiu Chow food.  The one here is excellent.  It's not oily at all, bites of fresh oysters. The deep fried tofu, the surface is a bit like deep fried stinking tofu.  Inside is a taste of a bit fermented tofu.  Texture is firm but smooth.  Very nice.

For the main dish, we had vegetable with fish maw and sweet and sour mince meat wrap.  The previous was light.  Natural sweetness of the vegetable!  The latter is very special.  Mince meat and vegetable was wrap in batter.  Yum!  We still order oyster congee.  It's gone so quick.  No photo taken!  It's excellent!

Last but not the least is Chiu Chow dessert, sugar coated wok fried yam 反沙芋. A nice ending of the meal.  Kind of comfort and satisfaction.
