Hunan Garden, Central

Chinese New Year is around the corner.  One of my colleagues will be away for business trips and his holiday.  The next time we will meet will be after the public holidays.  So, we had a lunch much in advance to the Chinese New Year eve which family will have dinner together.  It denotes union / reunion.  Our venue is Hunan Garden, one of the few provincial resturants in Hong Kong.  A lot of the Hunan dishes are not exempted from hot and spicy taste.  But its menu is now mixed with many dishes from other provinces, such as Shanghai and Beijing.  Well, sample the signature dishes outside Hunan from the combined photo above: pickled vege pork with fried rice cake, xiao long bai, cabbage soup, Beijing duck.

This is my favourite dish of Hunan cuisine, fish with bean crumb. Very delicious and unique.  Bean crumb is dried mash crispy soy bean fried in oil with a bit seasoning.  Cod can be used for this dish.  The fragrance of soy lingers in one's mouth, superb!

The price level of this restaurant is high, especially with a Beijing duck.  Each of us paid $200 for lunch.
