Wa-En 和宴
A colleague has left for two months. Finally we could meet for dinner. Let's find a place nearby the office with good food and allows a nice chat. After some searches, I picked Wa-En, specialises in Japanese BBQ, particularly beef.
On the front pages are two-persons menu, $490. But the waitress advised that the portion was small and no rice included. Sounds like a bigger bill would be needed anyway. We went for one includes all sorts of food: scallops, calms, different parts of beef, bacon, vegetables. Each $390 with surcharge. Sumptuous!
The food placed on the table was a big pleasure, to the eyes, brain and stomach. It looks like a lot but enjoying them at a slow pace was superb. Beef was outstanding. Loin, rib and tongue..... Just dip in to the soy sauce and wow! Succulent, tender, juicy and melt-in-the-mouth.
Ended the meal were soup and vegetable pancake with a special sauce. Satisified!
Another visit, same order but added sake, ice cream and sorbet. Wonderful! Refreshing pineapple and velvet pumpkin ice cream.
